Dubai where Kola had her most memorable holiday.
1. Tell us about the very first holiday you remember going on.
My first holiday was to London when I was still in secondary school. It was absolutely a dream come true. Interestingly, the plane had to circle Heathrow about 2 or 3 times before we landed due to bad weather (we went in the winter) but I was completely unperturbed. I just thought it was part of the fun of flying.
2. What is your most memorable holiday?
Visiting Dubai definitely. Many Nigerians might be surprised by this but I had the best time ever there. Riding camels, chilling in the desert, shopping for gold. It was everything
3. What do you like most about vacations?
I love that it feels like a spiritual escape. I keep quite the hectic schedule day to day so when I go on holiday, it feels like an opportunity to connect with myself and this beautiful world that God has made
4. What do you hate most about vacations?
Leaving work. I love my work and it’s always tough to pull myself away but once I get on the plane, I put my game face on and have a blast!
5. How would you spend your perfect day on holiday?
I would visit all the local places, eat everything the local people do, and see all the big monuments there 😀
6. Tell us one thing that happened to you on holiday that you will never forget.
The Heathrow thing was quite memorable. Another instance was when our KLM flight almost crashed en route Lagos from New York. There were firefighters and everything on the tarmac.
7. Where would you most like to go on holiday? Why?
I would go anywhere as long as it’s international. When I went to Dubai, I almost went to Iraq with one guy I met at a souq. Thank God my mom was there to give me side eye.
