Today, I’ll be talking about whether you should date someone you are not in love with. I get this question from time to time so I decided to make a video to address the issue.

Whenever a woman asks me if she should date someone she’s not in love with, my answer is always ‘it depends’. It depends on what stage you are in your life. If you’re not in a hurry to get married then really, I think it’s fine for you to date someone that you are attracted to even if you are not 100% sure about them or you are not totally in love with them. It’s fine particularly when you are young. I mean this is how you get to know people and it’s also how you learn to know what you like and don’t like in a partner.
But if you’re at a stage where you want to get married and you really want to get married soon then I would say don’t just date anybody you know. Wait for the person that you really like. Wait for the person that you think is most like the person you want to marry.

For example, think about your future, think about what you want to do in the future, think about how you want your life would be. Imagine what marriage would be like for you and then go back and imagine the kind of person you want to be married to. Then look at the person who is asking you to date them or look at the person you are considering dating and ask yourself ‘Is this person as close as possible to the man I would like to marry?’ If your answer is yes, then try and date them.
I have never been the kind of person who would say you should only date people who fit exactly what it is that you are looking for. Nobody is perfect. Some people keep saying no to different guys because that guy is not exactly what’s on their list of a husband and that’s not beneficial to anybody. What you need to do is to date people who are as close to what you want in a partner as possible.
