The bedroom at the Hilton Miami Airport
There are many Hilton hotels in Miami but the Hilton Miami Airport like the name suggests is the closest to the Miami International Airport – it is only a ten-minute car ride away. The hotel is also only a 20 minute taxi-ride away from South Beach and downtown Miami.
The Hilton Miami Airport is a busy hotel with over 500 rooms, a swimming pool and tennis courts. The room I stayed in cost about $120 a night and was on the 11th floor. It was simply but nicely furnished and had a beautiful view.

Most of the hotel staff was polite but not particularly attentive. There were exceptions though. The concierge, Victor was very pleasant and went out of his way to be helpful and one of the waitresses let me have breakfast free. She said I hadn’t eaten much anyway so that started my day on a positive note.

The food at the hotel was good. It wasn’t special and there didn’t seem to be that wide a range on offer but it was okay. The Hilton Miami Airport isn’t a memorable hotel but it’s a good hotel in a good location at a good price.
