How I spent my Christmas holiday – a photo essay

I had a great time at Christmas – for a change, I might add.  I usually hate Christmas at home to be honest but last year was different and for that, I am grateful.  There was less plate-washing and more going out so I was happy.  I wanted to let you know how the holiday went but instead of writing about it and perhaps bringing back memories of the English teacher you hated, I decided to put up pictures which show what I got up to over the holidays.

Eating out is a favourite pastime of mine and over Christmas, I did a lot of that.  The scales in my bathroom can testify to that.  I had this gorgeous burger and chips at Café Royal .

pizza and milkshake lagos nigeria

When I want to eat but I’m not very hungry, a pizza always hits the spot.  This pizza and milkshake were from Café Vergnano.

breakfast lagos nigeria

The first photograph in this post was what I had for lunch one day, the pizza was dinner on another day and this was breakfast on yet another day.  I had this very filling breakfast at Orchid Bistro.

Although I like ‘oyinbo’ food, I also really like pepper.  I had fish peppersoup a few times over the holidays.  This picture was taken at CMD.

cocktails in lagos nigeria

I love to dance and I dance even better (in my opinion) after a few drinks 😉  In this picture are a Strawberry Daiquiri and a Mojito.  Don’t worry, I didn’t drink them both.  At least, not at the same time 😉

fruit tea lagos nigeria

I like my cocktails but I also like my tea.  Our heat in Nigeria means I don’t drink tea often but when I do, I go for fruit tea.

eleko beach lagos nigeria

I say it all the time on this blog and I’m about to say it again:  I love the beach and it is one of the reasons I like living in Lagos.  This picture is of Eleko Beach.

So, it looks like I spent the holiday eating, drinking and playing on the beach.  You couldn’t ask for more if you ask me.  What did you get up to over the holidays?
