Having a secret relationship that nobody knows about, that your friends and family don’t know about can feel exciting but after a while, if that’s not what you want, you might start wondering why exactly the guy wants to keep the relationship under wraps.
The thing is, in most cases, if a guy is telling you that he wants you guys to keep your relationship a secret, it’s usually not for a good reason. If he doesn’t want to tell his friends and family about you and he doesn’t want you to tell anybody about the relationship either then he probably doesn’t consider the relationship a serious one. He doesn’t consider you his real girlfriend or he is hiding another relationship that can be revealed if your relationship with him is made public.
Look, there are times when a man and a woman might want to keep their relationship a secret but if he is the only one that wants to do that then it’s a big red flag. There is almost no good reason why a guy should keep you a secret, especially if you are unhappy with the situation.
If he insists on keeping you a secret, it could be because he already has a girlfriend, he is engaged or he is married. So if you find yourself in a relationship with a man and that man insists that the relationship must be kept secret, please take your courage in your hands and leave him.
If a relationship that you can happily tell your friends and family about is important to you, being in a relationship with this man who wants to keep you a secret won’t help you get it.
